How much does admission to the museum cost?
Admission is always free at the Salado Museum and College Park. Donations are welcome.
How long should I plan for my visit to the museum?
It is difficult to say how much time it would take to visit. So much depends on the age and interests of those in your group. We recommend that you visit our Facebook page for the latest exhibit news.
Can I bring a group for a visit?
Yes! Advance registration is not required but appreciated. All children (under the age of 18) must be accompanied by an adult chaperone. When accompanying children, one adult can chaperone up to a maximum of five children. If you are planning a field trip, please contact us to coordinate. Salado College Park is an excellent place for a picnic too.
Where can I park?
Free parking is available along Main Street and College Hill Road. There is also limited parking behind the museum.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
There is a ramp into the museum and an accessible restroom. Salado College Park requires climbing steps and is not wheelchair accessible.
Where can I get something to eat?
There are several restaurants within walking distance of the museum. Chupacabra, Stagecoach Inn Restaurant, Barrow Brewing’s beer garden, Provecho and The Shed are all nearby.
Do you have a gift shop?
Yes. Our gift shop, The Wee Scot Shop, carries Scottish and Salado souvenirs.
Where can I find information about my Scottish Clan?
The museum has resource materials and files to help you find your Scottish Clan. The oldest Clan Gathering in Texas is held every second weekend in November here in Salado. You can find out more here.
May I take pictures in the museum?
Photography is permitted in the museum. Use of tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are not permitted. News photographers and videographers must arrange visits.
Is Salado College Park available for photoshoots?
Yes. Please be mindful of the historic nature of the property and respect the rules. This is a perfect backdrop for Senior photos, engagements, weddings, and family portraits. Donations are appreciated.
